Inspiring Wedding Cake Toppers

Creative cake toppers are one way to make your wedding cake unique. If you aren't interested in the plastic bride and groom dolls that you find in party stores, top your cake with one of these inspiring cake toppers instead:

  No Topper
Plain and simple!
  Fresh Flowers
A small floral arrangement or basket of fresh flowers on top with flowers or flower petals on each tier or cascading down the tiers
  Fresh Greenery
Ivy or other greenery cascading down the tiers or possibly two small topiary trees pulled together with ribbon.
  A Photo
A picture frame holding a photo of the bride and groom might be nice.
  Antiques
Vintage bride and groom cake toppers that is. You may be able to find some online or at a flea market.
  Jewels
Try topping the cake with small jewelry box overflowing with faux pearls or other jewels with more flowing over the tiers of the cake.
  Ribbons
Attach a large ribbon bow to the top of the cake and have long streaming ribbons down the tiers.
  Pinecones and Berries
Perfect for a Fall or Winter wedding!
  Seashells and Small Pearls
A great idea for a beach themed wedding.
  Tiny White Lights
Festive and bright for a Christmas or holiday wedding.

I have found out through some brides on this list that I can get a topper made in a Monogram type with my flower colour covered in ivy - no metal or rhinestones just perfect. J. from www.jjbridal.com seems to be making her mark. I am thrilled you told me about her and hope some others will look at her ideas. I love the 'Phantom of the Opera' and other movies themes as well. Thanks again

MONOGRAM CAKE TOPPER: for anybody who was looking for one, I found a wonderful site that has them for VERY cheap! http://www.craftcuts.com/cake-toppers.html I ordered mine last week and they sent me an outline of how it will look on the top of my cake with the dimensions I gave them (standard at checkout) and you send approval before they make it. I got a 4" tall mirror initial and it was around $20!!!!

Hey- I'm looking for a topper with a chubby groom. My fiance does not fit the standard thin groom that you see on every cake topper. Being that our society is, what, 60% overweight, you'd think by now they'd have a chubby groom somewhere! If you've seen one, please let me know!

If you are looking for a MONOGRAM CAKE TOPPER, check out TopperswithGlitz.com. I was searching and searching all over the web when I finally found this site. For the quality product this site offers, this is the BEST price on the web (believe me, I searched!) You can customize your order to your specifications (font and Swarkovski crystals). I was able to get letters in the same font as my invitations, unity candle (also monogrammed) and wedding program, with crystals in my wedding colors. Once on the site, email the owner with any questions. She is very nice and helpful! Good luck!

My fiance and I were out with our friends who are getting married too and we were all looking at cake toppers at a local store and 3 out of the four of us are overweight, (my best friend's fiance is just a bit chubby,) and my groom to be pointed something out to us. (Jokingly) He said he believes that the cake topper makers are not "fat friendly" because you never see a fat groom, or a fat bride, or a fat couple, they're all skinny. And its true, I have never seen a plus sized cake topper. So my fiance and I are looking for a "fat couple" cake topper both caucasian with brown hair. Obviously we are not ashamed of our plumpness and we feel it makes others more comfortable about it if we let them know we are comfortable with it. If you have any suggestions please let me know at Emilie.Kyker@state.tn.us Thank you!

Charlie I am not aware that the Millenium Cake topper you are looking for comes in any color other than Ivory.... Someone may have had it custom painted we have done that for many of are brides before so I am almost positive that is what was done to the one you saw....

By June of 2005, all of the police officers in our department will be married. Our department is like a close family. With each marriage we add a new member. I've been searching since the first marriage back in May '04 (Police Officer with K-9 and Bride) for affordabe carrier orriented cake toppers with no luck. I tried again for the second marriage in September '04 (Police Officer and Bride). Again with no luck. The third marriage will be in April '05 (Police Chief Groom and Firefighter Bride). My wedding will be the final wedding for the department and I would like an Army Groom and a Police Officer Bride with K-9. In a five "man" department, four marriages in 13 months is overwhelming, especially on a small departments income. If you have ideas please let me know.

The idea is that several women were trying to get to the groom at the top of the cake but that only one won. I have seen a photo of this topper but can't find it on the web anywhere. HELP! I'd also be interested in the "reluctant bride" topper if anyone has information on that. THANK YOU!

I have been looking for a Spanish bride and Norwegian groom cake topper. No luck yet. In my search I came across the following. For the cake topper with the bride holding the groom you can go to: http://www.crown-sales.com and look under "Cake Decorating" page 2 For a reasonable price you can get personalized figures from a craft artist at: http://www.wedding-favour.com For some serious bling you can get personalized figures from a sculptor artist at: http://www.goodearthstudio.com For some animal bride and grooms--notably a dolphin pair--go to: http://www.dbccollectibles.com I also found plenty of grooms wearing military uniforms, but the closest thing to the Met police that I saw was a topper on eBay in which the bride was wearing a policeman's hat and had a baton and handcuffs dangling from her waist. Good luck!

Brides looking for monogram cake toppers can find some very cool items at All For Love (773-472-2302) on Lincoln Avenue in Chicago. Customized toppers made completely in edible sugar as seen in the Brides Magazine special issue Receptions May 2004 are possible through Artistic Confections in Chicago too (312-286-3122). Just a couple thoughts for consideration ...

It has two initials with an ampersand in-between (ex. N&T). I cannot find it anywhere. Help! I have looked at: whiteaisle, cake-jewerly and www.paristiaras.com (which is WAY out of my range). I am not sure of the price for cake-jewerly and I am not so sure I like whiteaisle. Does anyone have any other ideas? Suggestions? Help! I know Target has aluminum letters but they are too big. :)

I was searching for cakes and found this cake topper that just stood out to me! I just cannot find this cake topper anywhere for sale! The bride is sitting on the edge of the cake with her legs dangling off the side. She's looking dreamily down at the bottom of the cake where the groom is staring up at her. Can anyone help me find this?

I found a website that sells stainless steel caketoppers for $80.00 for 3 initials...the last name initial is larger and sits in the middle of the bride and grooms first name initials... this is much cheaper than anything else I have seen. www.whiteaisle.com

I found a website with some information on the silver monogram cake toppers that have been recently featured in several bridal magazines. The site is www.cake-jewelry.com. You cannot order them directly from the manufacturer, but the website does give a listing of stores that carry these items. I contacted one store in my area, and they told me that the 3-letter monogram set (2 small letters & one large) sells for $175.95, and that the manufacturer will ship it to the store, after which you may either pick it up or have it shipped to you. Hope this helps some of you!

Wrapping from the thing that you were eating on the day you and you mate met or the ticket to a play or movie you went to see could be put into a small gold frame with pressed flowers around it (gold preferribly). And gold sugar flower petals could drop from the top of the cake to the bottom on a sugar satin dress lining or vale.

Try a simple monogramed letter that represents your new last name or both of your first names. It could be sterling silver, or you can make it out of a hard material and spray paint it silver to look like sterlig silver, or get a cookie cutter in the shape of your last name, and have that be the cake topper.

Hi, I am getting married on 10-23-04 my fiance and I are both Police Officers with two different agency's. I am with a Sheriff's dept.as K-9 handler. And he is with a Police dept. as a street officer. I wanted something different for our cake topper. I have never seen one with any type of police relation to it rather it's just the male figure in a uniform or both male and female. I am not set on figurings of people I also like glass stuff like with hearts or doves however the one's I have found usually have gold around them and I am using silver since our rings are platnium and a dark red wine as my colors. Have any suggestions on where to find something like this? Thank you, Penny

We are looking for a very UNIQUE cake topper. We want bridal people, but with a twist. We are very non-traditional people with a very silly side, but at the same time a very romantic side and want something that matches us. If anyone knows of anything please let me know. I have seen the bridal people with the "run-away groom" which would fit our silly side, but we also would like to add a bit of romance to it as well without it being too fancy or traditional. Any ideas?? Please e-mail me at hsbaker7@hotmail.com with any ideas. Thanks so much!

Hi everyone! Based on photos you provide, I hand-sculpt & hand-paint one-of-a-kind wedding cake toppers that look like the happy couple. Any clothing is possible including your actual wedding gown, tux or job uniform. The more accurate the photos you provide me are, the more detailed your topper will be. I'm actually getting ready to start a firefighter topper this week. Take a look at my site at http:www.themcdevittstudio.com and let me know if you'd like more info. Thanks and Congratulations!

emts and firefighters may want to buy a small firefighter and emt figurine from a toy store and even a small fire engine and ambulance, or all of the above and use on different tiers of the cake. We are doing toy store figurines of a dinosaur and dog that get married in a movie that we randomly saw together on the disney channel of the wiggles kids show!

Two elegant swans with their necks shaped like a heart. Can be made out of any material but I suggest Polymer Clay it is light easy to work with and you have a sculpture that is a work of art after the Festivities! Personally I would make my own Wedding Cake Topper! Currently I am making dollhouse size elegant 3 tiered Wedding Cakes, very tiny and very detailed out of polymer clay and dimensional paints.
